Professional statement

As the landscape of therapy changes, I feel it's important to share some of my core values in order for you to realistically evaluate whether I'm the right provider for you.

First and foremost, I am committed to your safety. My documentation style will always err on the side of keeping you safe. Formal diagnosis will never be given without thorough discussion, concurrence, and consent. Challenging topics will be recorded with the utmost care and consideration of how this record could impact you at any stage of your life, while also meeting compliance requirements.

I am also committed to NEVER using AI to facilitate any facet of our care relationship - no assessments, therapy notes, or any other documentation will ever be generated by AI in this practice. Don't let my usage of "-" fool you, I'm just an elder millennial who also always double spaces after a period.

When you set up a consultation with me, this is your opportunity to ask whatever you need to know to make a safe and fulfilling choice for yourself. I will not hesitate to answer questions related to values alignment, and I understand why this is more important now than ever before.

Message to clients

Why should you choose me as your therapist? I can’t promise you that everything will be ok, but I can promise to help you feel better prepared to face life’s problems. I do not enter into a therapeutic relationship with rigid structure or ideas of how our journey will unfold - you are an active participant in the creation of our plan. I believe that change is always possible with willing participants, and we can always find a way. I work with individuals, couples, and small groups when appropriate. I utilize many modalities along the way with a goal of providing you the skills and tools you need to tackle life.

I am flexible and always willing to shift approaches to better support you, but I will also challenge you when necessary. I specialize in relationships (romantic, platonic, family, and anything in between) and life transitions (grief & loss, changing relationship status, divorce). In terms of relationship therapy, I have completed level 2 training in the Gottman Method couples therapy and find this method to be incredibly impactful for couples who are wanting to take on the challenge.

You will be in a space free from judgment around how your relationships (and their issues) and life trajectory fit into societal norms.
