Professional statement

Linda Karcher, LCSW, is the owner of Surviving2Thriving Counseling PLLC and provides therapy for adults seeking support with anxiety, stress, grief and loss, and major life transitions. She currently offers in-person sessions in the Triangle area of North Carolina, specifically Fearrington Village, and will transition to in-person services to the Bluffton and Sun City Hilton Head, South Carolina area in the near future.

With over 35 years of experience, Linda is passionate about helping people move from feeling overwhelmed or “stuck in survival mode” to living with greater calm, clarity, and confidence. She offers a collaborative, supportive space where clients do not have to navigate challenges alone.

Her approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and strengths-based, often incorporating humor and practical tools. She helps clients understand patterns in thoughts and emotions, build effective coping skills, and regulate the nervous system so they can feel more grounded and in control of their lives.

Linda integrates evidence-based approaches such as trauma-informed therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and skills from DBT, along with mind-body approaches that support emotional regulation and resilience.

When appropriate, she may also include animal-assisted support with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lotus, in both virtual and in-person sessions, offering an additional layer of comfort and connection.

Her work is informed by a broad background across clinical practice, education, and wellness, including her training as a Certified Yoga Teacher, allowing her to bring a holistic perspective to care.

Message to clients

Please put your oxygen mask on first. Taking care of yourself is not selfish—it’s an act of care that allows you to stay connected to your own needs and to the people who matter to you. When you’re overwhelmed or running on empty, everything feels harder; support can make a real difference.

Finding the right fit in therapy is important to me. I want you to feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely safe here. I aim to offer a relaxed, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are. I have experience working with a diverse range of clients, including people of color, Native American clients, and LGBTQ+ individuals, and I value creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all.

You don’t have to go through things alone. I honor the courage it takes to reach out, and I offer a free 15-minute phone or virtual consultation so you can see if we feel like a good match.
