Lori Lambert is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Houston, TX. As a therapist who works with clients of all ages, including adults and children ages 8 and up, she specializes in supporting those who struggle with anxiety or depression. Often, these mental health challenges are the result of trauma or reactions to major life changes like moving to a new place or entering a new phase of life. She also specializes in helping clients develop strong stress management to combat feelings of overwhelm or distress.
Lori’s therapeutic approach draws heavily from a therapy modality called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In CBT, clients begin to identify how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected and how they can impact one another. By identifying and changing these patterns, clients can develop coping strategies to enhance their resilience. When working with children, Lori brings hands-on activities to help them learn about mental health and how to overcome difficulties.
Lori earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. Her style is nonjudgmental, making sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe in their sessions together. She has previous work experience as a school counselor, which furthered her expertise in working with young people and families. She also worked as a therapist for the district's Wellness Program providing support to the adult staff.
