Professional statement

Lucy is a licensed mental health counselor and trauma therapist who specializes in helping individuals and couples build deeper, more fulfilling relationships—starting with the relationship they have with themselves.

As a relationship therapist, Lucy believes that your relationship with self is where loving connection begin. “You are the one you’ve been waiting for,” in the words of IFS creator, Richard Schwartz. Drawing from attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and embodied trauma recovery, she creates a safe space where clients can explore their patterns, heal past wounds, and develop skills for lasting relationships.

Lucy brings extensive specialized training to her practice, including certifications in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), EMDR, the Safe & Sound Protocol, and Trauma-Focused CBT. She has completed Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems and is a member of the Embodied Recovery Institute, reflecting her holistic approach that honors the mind-body connection in healing.

Her practice embraces the full spectrum of her clients’ experiences, including recovery from gender violence, maternal mental health, intentional parenting, body justice, sex positivity, and trauma healing. Lucy integrates psychoeducation throughout her work, helping clients understand their experiences and develop tools for lasting change.

Known for her warm, collaborative approach, Lucy values the healing power of humor and authentic connection, believing that recovery often begins in the safety of the therapeutic relationship. She’s deeply creative and frequently incorporates expressive techniques to support transformation and healing in ways that feel natural and meaningful to each client.

Message to clients

Relationships are hard, aren’t they? We come into the world hard-wired to connect. As children, it ensures our very survival. Adulthood, it seems, is not quite as simple.

Whether you are seeking relationship therapy as a couple, an individual or as family members, welcome. Many of us have early life experiences that continue to shape our capacity for love and connection for decades to come. These attachment patterns can feel knotty and impossible to untangle without the support of a professional who has both experience and an outside perspective. My goal is not to adjudicate the “who said what” of relationship conflict but instead to help you explore your attachment styles and learn what no longer protects or serves you in relationships.

I come to this work as a fellow human living in our deeply complicated world. There is no denying the impact of external influences on the relationships we’re in. Identity politics, cultural biases, mental health challenges, post-pandemic isolation and anxiety, parenting styles, environmental chaos, and our larger political systems all take a toll on our capacity to embrace one another in wholehearted ways. Our work together will explore external influences as well as those unique to your relationship history and experiences. All are worthy of compassion.
