Maitey Etienne creates a therapy space where people can slow down, feel heard, and finally make sense of what they’ve been carrying. Many of her clients come in feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in overthinking, or repeating the same arguments in their relationships without knowing how to break the cycle. Some are unsure if therapy is “necessary,” yet know something doesn’t feel right. Her goal is to help clients better understand themselves, their reactions, and the patterns shaping their lives and relationships.
She works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, communication struggles, trust issues, life transitions, parenting stress, and emotional disconnection. In couples therapy, Maitey helps partners move away from blame and defensiveness and toward understanding. Sessions focus on improving communication, rebuilding emotional safety, and learning how to handle conflict without it escalating or shutting down. Rather than choosing sides, she helps both partners feel heard while identifying the interaction patterns keeping them stuck.
Her approach is collaborative, practical, and skill-focused. Maitey integrates evidence-based strategies including cognitive behavioral techniques, emotional regulation skills, and communication tools so clients leave sessions with clarity and concrete ways to respond differently outside of therapy. Clients often begin to notice they react less impulsively, express themselves more confidently, and feel more secure in their relationships.
Maitey provides therapy through secure telehealth sessions, allowing clients to attend from the privacy of their own space. Flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend availability, is offered to make starting therapy feel manageable and comfortable.
