Dr. Maja Jakovljevic is a clinical psychologist who works with adults navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, including trauma, depression, and anxiety. She offers in-person sessions in Northfield, Illinois, as well as virtual sessions for individuals located in PSYPACT-participating states. Prior to transitioning to private practice, Dr. Jakovljevic received specialized training and extensive experience in evidence-based treatments. Much of her career has been dedicated to working with active-duty military personnel and veterans.
Dr. Jakovljevic believes that meaningful, effective psychotherapy is inherently personalized — there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Her approach is integrative and individualized, tailored to each client’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances. She works collaboratively with clients to understand what may be getting in the way, clarify what matters most to them, and develop practical tools to support meaningful progress.
Central to her work is the belief that a strong psychotherapeutic relationship forms the foundation for lasting change. Her style is compassionately direct, collaborative, and warm, fostering a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.
