Dr. Marcio Guzman is a licensed mental health counselor with 16 years of private practice experience. His clients experience difficulties related to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, anxiety disorders, attachment based struggles and perfectionism. Dr. Guzman treats these conditions with evidence based approaches, creativity, and compassion. He has expertise in Exposure and Response prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
ERP is the gold standard of treatment for OCD and related anxiety disorders. It is highly effective at helping individuals develop resilience in tolerating uncertainty related to unrelenting obsessions and rumination. This exposure to uncertainty has been shown to be incredibly healing in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders.
IFS is a powerful, compassion-based approach. It can help you clarify your inner world and identify goals and decisions. However, it is better known and evidenced-based as deep self-work that guides you to see yourself with clearly, moving layers of self-protection that often contribute to your symptoms and concerns, and invite parts of yourself into a healing process.
Dr. Marcio Guzman is committed to providing healing in a safe environment where he balances evidence based experiential therapies with kindness and compassion. In addition to his Providence office, Dr. Guzman offers the flexibility of online therapy sessions, and welcomes new clients to his Telehealth practice.
