Professional statement

Marisol has a collaborative and supportive style and is deeply committed to her clients. She received her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University where she was honored with the National Association of Social Workers Award for Student of the Year.

Marisol believes that being an effective therapist means being a lifelong learner. She completed four years of postgraduate Family Therapy training and also did advanced study in the evidence-based approaches of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Focused CBT. Marisol integrates neuroscience and wellness for a holistic, compassionate, and science based approach.

Work with Marisol begins with a brief consultation to ensure a good fit and to explain her approach. Marisol enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families who come to her seeking support and understanding and who are curious and open to self-discovery and change.

Message to clients

As a professional therapist, my role is to guide you as you take steps towards positive life changes, healing, and a healthy mind. I am passionate about my work and you will have a real ally in me, always cheering you on while giving you honest and loving feedback.

We can start with a free 15 minute confidential consultation to assess if I can offer the help that is most appropriate for you. If so, we then discuss what would be the most effective modality of treatment. If we determine that I am not a good fit for you, I will try to guide you towards more appropriate service providers. Together we will work to determine a plan of action that best suits your needs.

Treatment begins on a weekly basis, and may eventually transition to biweekly sessions. The length of treatment varies from 12 weeks to longer, depending on a client’s needs and goals. Every therapeutic relationship is unique and there is always an open and honest collaboration regarding goals, frequency and duration of treatment.

My traditional billing time is for 50 minute sessions. Reach out for a free consultation!
