Professional statement

Mark Schneider, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist with an office in Greenville, Rhode Island. He is licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and through PsyPact he is able to see patients online in over 40 states.

Dr. Schneider specializes in treating anxiety disorders, including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and panic disorder. With a background in behavioral medicine, he also supports individuals managing chronic pain, diabetes, and other long-term health conditions. His work blends evidence-based techniques with practical, day-to-day coping tools, helping patients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses to stress.

Dr. Schneider often works with young adults helping them navigate the often-overwhelming transition into adulthood. Many of his clients are in their late teens to early thirties—figuring out careers, relationships, and identity during what’s often called the “quarter-life crisis.” He provides a supportive space to explore these challenges with curiosity and compassion, helping clients gain clarity, confidence, and self-acceptance as they move forward.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dr. Schneider integrates mindfulness and relaxation practices into his sessions. His approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and focused on helping clients live more fully in line with their values. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety or feeling stuck in life’s next chapter, Dr. Schneider helps them cultivate balance, resilience, and a renewed sense of direction.

He received his doctorate at Stony Brook University in New York, then did an internship and N.I.H. funded fellowship in behavioral medicine at Duke University Medical Center. In addition to his work as a therapist, he has provided over 900 continuing education programs on anxiety and behavioral health topics to thousands of participants over the past 30 years.
