Professional statement

Dr. Kera Jones, Psy.D., is a Maryland-licensed psychologist whose practice is rooted in social justice and cultural humility. She specializes in empowering Black, Asian, Latine/x, Indigenous, and other communities of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and anyone who’s felt marginalized or misunderstood. With genuine empathy and cultural responsiveness, she cultivates a sacred healing space where every person’s identity and lived experience are honored.

By offering individual, couples, and group telehealth sessions, Dr. Jones embraces a holistic approach that nurtures mind, body, and spirit. Grounded in feminist theory, intersectionality, and radical healing principles, she illuminates how personal challenges intersect with wider social, cultural, economic, and political forces; fostering deep, transformative growth.

In her work, Dr. Jones integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and emotion-focused techniques to deepen self-awareness and strengthen the mind–body connection. Rooted in holistic health and attuned to each client’s unique needs, Dr. Jones offers a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to explore and honor one’s identity. Whether clients are navigating sexuality, kink, consensual non-monogamy, or managing work stress, family dynamics, depression, or anxiety, she collaborates with them to challenge stigma, build confidence, and cultivate authentic connection.

Dr. Jones believes true mental health blossoms when we speak to and care for ourselves with kindness, even amid life’s greatest challenges. This is also a space to talk openly about intimacy, pleasure, and self-discovery; topics often misunderstood or overlooked. Everyone deserves a non-stigmatizing environment to explore these aspects of self with curiosity and confidence.

Healing is a shared journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you toward greater clarity, strength, and self-awareness. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but investing in your mental health is investing in your life’s richness. If you’re ready for transformative change, I invite you to reach out.
