It is not easy being human, especially in our complicated digital world. No matter what phase of life we are in, engaging in therapy can help us understand the connections between past and present, supporting the transformation of our current and future experiences. Dr. Markus Bidell is a psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a private practice in New York City working with adults – individually or within the dynamic of couples or families.
Dr. Bidell has over 30 years of experience as a mental health provider, supervisor, consultant, researcher, and clinical professor. His journey as a clinician and researcher started in the height of the AIDS epidemic and he is uniquely skilled in working with people experiencing health and existential life issues, including working with caregivers and healthcare providers. Dr. Bidell also has expertise working with depression, anxiety, burnout, minority stress, relationship issues, trauma, life transitions, SOGI issues, as well as addiction and recovery.
Therapy and consultation sessions with Dr. Bidell are client centered, based on building an open, collaborative, and supportive relationship. Using multiple modalities, Dr. Bidell helps people uncover core issues, build awareness, develop self-compassion, and create ways to more fully engage with life. We can’t alter what happened in the past, but we do have the power to lean into our story and use our insights and experiences to build new ways of thinking, feeling, being, behaving, and engaging. Dr. Bidell is dedicated to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive practice and welcomes new clients to his online therapy and consultation practice.
