It takes a village to raise a child, and I am grateful to be a part of your village. As your teen becomes an emerging adult, therapy can help them develop tools to address current challenges and thrive through the process of adulting.
Using a strength-based approach, I work collaboratively with teens to utilize their inherent strengths and develop practical skills to improve emotional self-regulation, conquer fears, and employ healthy coping strategies. In sessions, your teen will set measurable goals of their own, and I will guide them through the process with support and encouragement. I know speaking with someone new is difficult at any age, and it is always my goal to ensure their safety and comfort in therapy. Therefore, I welcome humor, sports, games, and individual interests in sessions to make therapy fun and relatable.
Teens face unique challenges, often communicated through shifts in emotion and behavior, which can affect the family dynamic. As an experienced, person-centered adolescent therapist, I help restore a sense of hope through individual therapy. I specialize in helping adolescents experiencing anxiety, bullying, relational challenges, self-esteem concerns, depression, and adjustments to divorce and separation.
Within my practice, I utilize evidence-based therapy approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. I also consider multicultural, familial, and generational experiences to ensure that your teen and family feel seen and understood. I look forward to collaborating with your teen and family to help them flourish!
