Professional statement

Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over twenty-five years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, compulsive behaviors, and family or relationship conflict. Mary often works with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or struggling to communicate effectively during times of stress or transition.

Her therapeutic approach is accepting, collaborative, and change-oriented. Mary creates a supportive space where clients feel heard while also learning practical tools to improve communication, assertiveness, emotional regulation, and relaxation. She integrates mindfulness and meditation techniques when appropriate, helping clients develop skills that support emotional balance and long-term well-being.

Mary earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Kean University and brings extensive experience in clinical crisis assessment. She is trained in teaching meditation as a therapeutic method for preventing and reducing anxiety and depression, and she has completed professional mediation training through Rutgers University. This background allows her to thoughtfully support couples and families working through conflict, decision-making, and relationship challenges.

Mary is available for in-person sessions and also offers remote therapy for clients who prefer the flexibility of virtual care. She values building meaningful therapeutic relationships and finds deep fulfillment in helping clients overcome life’s challenges. Outside of her clinical work, Mary enjoys spending time with her family and volunteers her time supporting military veterans.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that you do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. My hope is to offer you a safe, supportive, and respectful space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

In our work together, I focus on helping you build practical skills for managing stress, emotions, and relationships, while also gaining insight into patterns that may be holding you back. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply seeking greater balance and clarity, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and support your growth.

I believe therapy is most effective when you feel comfortable, heard, and empowered. My hope is that through our work together, you will gain greater confidence, resilience, and tools to navigate life’s challenges with more ease and self-compassion.
