Professional statement

Dr. Matt Worhach is a gay male psychologist who specializes in working with high-achieving men navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, LGBTQ+ concerns, and the lasting impact of family-of-origin experiences. Many of the people he works with look “fine” on the outside—capable, responsible, and successful—while privately feeling stuck in overthinking, self-criticism, shame, or a sense of disconnection. Matt’s style is warm, human, and collaborative: he helps clients understand the patterns driving their distress and develop a more grounded relationship with themselves.

His approach integrates evidence-based therapy with a relational, insight-oriented lens. Sessions often focus on clarifying values, shifting unhelpful thinking and avoidance patterns, strengthening emotional flexibility, and practicing new ways of showing up in relationships. Matt is out-of-network and provides superbills for clients seeking reimbursement. He also offers telehealth for clients located in PSYPACT participating states, making it possible to continue meaningful work even across state lines.

Message to clients

Therapy with me is a place to be honest—especially if you’re used to holding it together for everyone else. I work with high-achieving men who are outwardly competent but privately carrying anxiety, depression, OCD symptoms, or a persistent sense that something is “off” in their relationships or sense of self. If you’re caught in the same loops—overthinking, second-guessing, checking, people-pleasing, pushing through, then crashing—therapy can be a place to finally interrupt the pattern.

If you’re tired of holding it together, constantly analyzing, or trying to manage emotions by staying busy or in control, therapy can help you create a different way forward. Feel free to reach out and see if we're a good fit.
