Mikaela Boisvert is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Woburn, MA. Through her work with teenagers, young adults, adults, couples, and families, Mikaela has extensive experience helping clients develop healthy coping strategies for moments of overwhelm or distress. Many of her clients struggle with anxiety or depression, feeling as if they can’t control their emotions or are held back from leading joyful, fulfilling daily lives because of their mental health. They might also face conflict in their relationships, substance use and addiction, or burnout.
The foundation of Mikaela’s therapy sessions is deepening self-understanding, increased acceptance, and personal growth. Clients begin to identify the harmful patterns that they enact in their relationships with themselves and others, ultimately adjusting those patterns. Through thoughts-based therapy modalities, clients learn how to manage their emotional reactions by leaning into healthy thought patterns and utilizing coping strategies. Mikaela also practices Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is a therapy approach generally used to help individuals overcome the impacts of trauma.
Mikaela earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Salem State University. She provides clients with a safe, nurturing space to talk openly about what’s on their minds and what’s holding them back from living wholeheartedly and in peace.
