Professional statement

As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Petroski provides a supportive and motivating environment that helps patients develop practical coping strategies and confidence in facing life’s challenges. Her warm, easygoing style and sense of humor help patients feel comfortable while exploring new possibilities for growth and building personal resilience.

Dr. Petroski brings to Evolvinn extensive experience working with individuals across the life span, from children and adolescents to older adults, as well as with family members and caregivers. She has helped patients navigate a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, adjustment to new medical or life circumstances, chronic and terminal health conditions, and grief. She also has significant experience with dementia and other cognitive impairments, Autism, and ADHD. With compassion and clarity, she supports patients as they process unexpected life changes, major losses, recover from traumatic experiences, including sexual abuse, and regain a sense of stability and direction.

Her clinical approach is informed by a strong foundation in evidence-based therapies. She integrates a person-centered orientation with modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed techniques, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailoring interventions to each patient’s needs and goals.

Dr. Petroski’s therapeutic work is strengthened by her extensive diagnostic training and experience. She has conducted neurocognitive screenings and comprehensive psychological evaluations, collaborated with providers, and offered feedback to support accurate understanding and treatment planning. This assessment background enriches her therapy by giving her a deeper, more nuanced understanding of each individual’s challenges and strengths.

She has practiced in a wide range of outpatient and inpatient settings, providing individual therapy, diagnostic services, and group interventions. Dr. Petroski values working within interdisciplinary teams and alongside caregivers, educators, and community members as needed, to support the overall well-being of her patients.

Message to clients

Beginning therapy is a meaningful step and choosing your therapist is a big decision. I honor the trust that comes with that decision. I view our work as true collaboration. You are the expert on your lived experience, and I bring my background in clinical psychology and evidence-based care. Together, we form a team that focuses on understanding what you’re going through, identifying what matters most to you, and develop a plan to tackle life’s challenges. My hope is that our sessions feel like a place where you can show up as you are, ask questions, and take things at a pace that feels steady and sustainable.

Something you may notice about me as we work together is that I genuinely love this field. I’m passionate about understanding how people grow, adapt, and make sense of their lives. That enthusiasm often comes through when I’m teaching a concept, sharing a skill, or introducing a strategy that might help illuminate a challenge you’re facing. I make these tools accessible and practical, so they feel supportive and empowering.

You’ll also find I’m naturally curious and ask a lot of questions; not to interrogate, but to understand your world from the inside out. That curiosity helps us explore what’s beneath the surface, identify patterns, and discover meaningful paths forward. Whether we’re making sense of a major life transition, navigating anxiety or grief, coping with health-related changes, or building skills for daily resilience, I’ll be right there with you as we shape your path forward.
