Morolake (pronounced mo-raw-lah-keh) is licensed to provide mental health therapy in New York and New Jersey. She is passionate about immigrant acculturation, life transitions, LGBTQIA, and women’s issues. Her work as an activist, global health advocate and teacher has given her the unique opportunity to work sensitively and non-judgmentally across cultures, religion, identities, and abilities.
Morolake approaches therapy from a feminist perspective. She supports her clients as they examine and understand the roles they play in their family, workplace, and social systems. She helps clients to make the changes that they desire by holding up the mirror and echoing back their words so they can see and hear themselves.
Coming from the non-profit world, Morolake adopts a rights based and client centered approach to her work. Her clients include immigrants, First-Gen, people with anxiety, childhood trauma, relationship problems, and people living with chronic illnesses. She offers great support for people in nontraditional relationships and partnerships.
Morolake speaks fluent Yoruba and West African pidgin. She provides tele-therapy to clients aged 18 and older. She does not provide online therapy for crisis situations.
