Message to clients

Resilience Human Services Inc. started as a nonprofit program called Absolute Success Inc., a program to better the lives of children, families, men, and women of all backgrounds by providing high-quality training seminars focused on life skills, career enhancement, and in-depth mental health counseling services while helping to connect individuals to their unique purpose in life. In 2007, Nailah Cook made this vision a reality by offering FREE and low-cost life skills and career seminars in the community of Roanoke, Virginia. As a social worker working with disenfranchised individuals and families, Nailah realized a need that was missing in so many people’s lives.

The need was for practical, biblical education, training, and knowledge needed to succeed in everyday life. In later years, as Nailah gained professional experience as a manager, director, and mental health clinician, she realized a different and oftentimes more pressing need around mental health and human services, which was the high turnover and burnout rate of mental health professionals. Nailah concluded from her experience and research that the primary reason for burnout among these professionals was a lack of support and motivational training opportunities that would encourage them in the field. Nailah is currently licensed as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Clinician (LICSW) in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, assisting and treating people with mental health disorders.
