Professional statement

I'm a queer psychologist who specializes in: LGBTQ+ competent care, Eating disorders, OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Mind-body and health psychology-related concerns, ADHD assessments, full diagnostic testing, gifted and talented testing

When working with clients, I take a nonjudgmental stance and aim to embody mindfulness-based principles in therapy. I respect clients’ autonomy in the therapy process and encourage clients to identify what they want out of therapy so we can work together to reach their goals. Given that cultural context shapes all of our life experiences, I strive to understand clients’ cultural backgrounds and integrate this into the therapeutic process.

I take an integrative approach to therapy, and often draw from cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based therapies, such as acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.

I specialize in treating psychological concerns connected to the relationship between the mind and the body in adolescents, emerging adults, and adults. I provide individual therapy, and letter writing services for folks seeking gender affirming care. I also provide ADHD testing and full diagnostic assessments.

Prior to earning my PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville, I received my MEd in child studies with a focus in empirical research from Vanderbilt University. I have worked in a number of settings during my clinical training that have emphasized the mind-body connection, including the Pain Management Center at University of Louisville Hospital, the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, and an outpatient eating disorders clinic within the University of Wisconsin’s Department of Psychiatry.

I am a certified yoga teacher and practitioner of yoga, which is what sparked my interest in mindfulness-based therapies. I enjoy integrating mindfulness-based practices into therapy for clients who are interested in this as well.

Message to clients

If anxiety, OCD, minority stress, or an eating disorder is steering the wheel, please know you don’t have to keep riding alone. As a queer therapist, I understand the unique layers these struggles hold for people in the LGBTQ+ community. Maybe you’re battling racing thoughts, compulsions, identity challenges, or disordered eating. You might replay conversations, overly double-check, or fight oppressive systems. You seek clarity and relief: to feel at ease in your mind and at home in your skin. To embrace and express your whole self without shame. To live an authentic life rooted in what matters—and I’m here to guide you there.

I utilize ACT, ERP, and CBT to help you heal, transform, and find values alignment. My approach balances evidence-based therapy (yang, structure) with connection, mindfulness, and a few laughs (yin, flow), welcoming life’s duality to cultivate wholeness. I honor your story, culture, and the systems you live in as we identify and move toward your values.

I blend my clinical training, yoga teaching background, and personal journey to support you in a holistic way. As someone who’s navigated perfectionism and anxiety, I know how overwhelming this road can feel. But with clarity, compassion, and practical strategies, we can make meaningful strides. Curious if we’re a fit? Let’s chat.
