Professional statement

Natalie is a licensed mental health counselor with a decade of experience helping individuals move from stuckness to vitality. She specializes in working with adults of all ages navigating burnout, chronic stress, health challenges, and major life transitions. Clients who find their way to Natalie often report having tried many methods that promise symptom improvement, sometimes having completed treatment successfully in the past, but find themselves still feeling lost, numb, or unfulfilled, wondering, 'what's the point?' If you can relate to this experience, you're in the right place.

Her approach blends evidence-based therapies and personalized assessments with deep empathy and real-world insight. Natalie brings a grounded, human understanding to the work of change. She believes that everyone deserves to live fully and not be alone in their experiences.

Clients describe her as warm, insightful, and authentic. Sessions with her are both compassionate and action-oriented, focused on helping clients clarify their values, break through limiting patterns, and take empowered steps toward values aligned living.

Natalie offers both traditional therapy sessions in her Amherst, NY office and virtual therapy for clients in NY, PA, NH, and IL, welcoming the involvement and collaboration of any supportive individuals and providers that clients wish to include in their treatment process.

Message to clients

I see therapy as an active process and team effort. You bring your expertise about your life, experiences, and values, while I bring my knowledge of therapeutic concepts, skills, and tools. Together, we’ll create a space to practice new perspectives and skills, much like practicing for a sport. Therapy is your time to explore what’s happening in your inner and outer world and to experiment with changes that align with the life you want to live. The work we do in session will lead to meaningful goals, assessments, and practice between sessions because if therapy doesn't apply to the rest of your life, it's not very useful.

I want to help you move towards a life that feels more aligned with what matters to you most and filled with vitality. Much like a surgeon uses a scalpel as a tool, I see the therapeutic relationship as our primary instrument. We'll observe patterns that aren’t working for you as they show up in session, practice handling the thoughts and feelings that typically get in the way differently, and begin using your values as motivation and guidance.

There is no achievement that will bring about eternal happiness or peace. My hope is that through our work, you learn sustainable ways of not only surviving the ups and downs of life but embracing the experience as you ride the waves in a way that matters to you. I’m honored to be part of your journey.
