Nick Ferro, LICSW, QMHP – Chief Executive Officer, Harbor Point Behavioral Health
Nick Ferro is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and the Chief Executive Officer of Harbor Point Behavioral Health, located on Providence’s East Side. He provides therapy for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, stress management concerns, grief, and challenges related to college mental health. Nick also specializes in supporting individuals navigating major life transitions. Clients consistently find his approach grounded, clear, and collaborative, fostering an immediate sense of trust and direction in the therapeutic process.
Therapy with Nick begins with a research-informed bio-psycho-social evaluation, a comprehensive assessment that examines the interconnection of biological, psychological, and social influences on overall functioning and well-being. This multidimensional framework supports precise diagnostic clarification, illuminates underlying contributors to presenting concerns, and guides the development of individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. Nick helps clients make meaning of the evaluation process and understand how its findings can directly inform their treatment trajectory.
Nick has advanced expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy, and additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). His therapeutic style is goal-oriented, problem-solving, and adaptable—ranging from brief interventions (8–16 sessions) to longer-term therapy when clinically appropriate.
By addressing the patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior underlying distress, Nick equips clients with practical skills to reduce anxiety, regulate mood, and promote resilience. He is particularly passionate about serving Military Veterans, drawing upon both evidence-based strategies and a deep respect for lived experience.
Nick’s approach integrates acceptance, validation, and support while offering direct, transparent feedback that clients often find clarifying and empowering. His work is grounded in the belief that new perspectives and insights can catalyze meaningful change, foster self-esteem, and create pathways toward greater fulfillment.
