Professional statement

Nichole Gabriel (MSEd, MHC-LP) is a New York City–based therapist who works with adults and teens of all backgrounds experiencing depression, anxiety, major transitions, identity exploration, or the lasting effects of early loss and complex family dynamics. She brings experience supporting those who have faced difficult childhoods, are navigating interracial or cross-cultural relationships, or are reflecting on mixed-race identity. Having also worked in the corporate sector, Nichole helps clients manage workplace pressures, the demands of entrepreneurship, and the pursuit of a healthy work–life balance.

Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and person-centered, integrating psychodynamic understanding with cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness approaches, and existential perspectives within a multicultural lens. She values both deep exploration and practical tools, guiding clients to uncover the roots of their challenges and patterns while also finding strategies for immediate relief.

Nichole is committed to creating a safe, trauma-informed space where people of all identities feel seen, supported, and empowered to live with greater authenticity and grounding. She offers in-person sessions in Midtown Manhattan and virtual therapy throughout New York State.

Message to clients

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing involves not only finding relief from immediate suffering, but also developing a deeper understanding of your inner world, your history, your relationships, and the patterns that shape how you move through life. Together, at a pace that feels right for you, we’ll gently explore the impact of past experiences to help you recognize and give voice to needs and emotions that may have long gone unacknowledged.

I center curiosity and respect for each person’s unique story, honoring the ways culture, identity, and lived experience shape our emotional lives. In our work, we’ll explore both the practical steps needed for change and the larger questions of meaning and purpose that bring depth to the healing process.

My approach is integrative, blending actionable tools with psychodynamic and existential perspectives. Working collaboratively and compassionately and centering your unique experiences and strengths, therapy becomes an environment where you can experiment with new ways of relating to yourself and others, ultimately creating more freedom and authenticity in your daily life.

Taking the step to begin therapy can feel daunting, and it’s normal to wonder what the experience might hold. My intention is to create a safe space where you feel supported, understood, and at ease as we move forward together. If you’re seeking a therapist who will truly honor both where you’ve been and where you’re headed, I invite you to message me so we can discuss how I might support you on your path forward.
