Professional statement

Nico Vogelsang is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with adults seeking a deeper understanding of themselves - their anxiety, identity, and the relational patterns that shape how they move through the world. Many of Nico’s clients are doing their best externally while feeling internally overwhelmed, reactive, or uncertain why the same emotional cycles keep showing up. She supports individuals who are moving through life transitions, questioning old patterns, or wanting to reconnect with a more grounded and authentic sense of self.

Nico’s approach is warm, grounded, and insight-oriented. She blends relational, attachment-based, and parts-informed perspectives to help clients slow down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and make meaning of their emotional experiences. Nico is particularly attuned to how past relationships and internal dynamics shape present-day reactions. Her work integrates thoughtful exploration with genuine conversation, allowing clients to understand not only what they’re feeling, but why.

Across her career, Nico has worked with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, identity development, early adulthood challenges, relational strain, and complex internal narratives. Her clients often describe therapy with her as steady, reflective, and deeply supportive - a place where they feel understood, validated, and able to make sense of long-standing patterns. Nico brings a gentle but grounded presence that invites clarity, curiosity, and meaningful change.

Nico holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and has trained extensively in relational, depth-oriented, and attachment-based therapy approaches. She provides virtual therapy to adults in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. Nico’s work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that self-understanding is the foundation for emotional growth and more fulfilling relationships.

Message to clients

Therapy with me offers a space to slow down and get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface. You may be carrying anxiety, overwhelm, or familiar patterns in relationships without fully understanding why certain reactions keep coming up. You don’t have to sort through this alone. My hope is that our work helps you feel more grounded, understood, and connected to yourself. Over time, many clients notice they feel calmer in their bodies, clearer in their choices, and more compassionate toward themselves.

In our sessions, I bring warmth, steadiness, and genuine curiosity. Together we explore what you’re feeling and how past experiences, relationships, internal expectations, and different parts of you shape your emotional world. At the same time, therapy isn’t only about insight. Our work also supports calming the nervous system, reducing anxiety, and helping you feel more steady in daily life.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin therapy. Many people reach out when life looks “fine” on the outside but feels complicated internally. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, identity questions, relationship dynamics, perfectionism, or the impact of past experiences, we’ll make space for all of it. All parts of you are welcome here.

My role is to help you reconnect with clarity, compassion, and a more grounded sense of self. Together, we’ll begin to understand what’s keeping you stuck and move toward a life that feels more aligned. If you’re feeling the pull to begin, I’d be honored to work with you.
