Professional statement

Nicole Harris is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals in New York and New Jersey. Her clients often seek support for ADHD symptoms that disrupt their daily lives, the weight of grief and loss, or the exhaustion of racing thoughts. She also supports individuals navigating the challenges of ongoing depression. Nicole is particularly passionate about helping those in the grieving process who are finding it difficult to accept and adapt to loss. Additionally, she enjoys working with young professionals navigating life transitions or managing significant work-related stress.

During sessions, Nicole helps clients understand how their thoughts affect their emotional well-being and contribute to intense or uncomfortable emotions. While helping individuals identify these thoughts, she guides them in challenging self-critical beliefs and negative cognitive patterns. For those experiencing grief, she provides steady support through the process while gently leading them toward acceptance and exploring practical ways to adapt to their new reality.

Nicole’s therapeutic style is warm, direct, and collaborative. She uses science-backed assessments to gain a deep understanding of each individual’s experience and works closely with them to set meaningful, realistic goals.

Nicole earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chicago State University. She has been in private practice for over five years, serving clients in both New York and New Jersey. She offers therapy sessions both in-person and virtually.

Message to clients

Maybe your mind feels like it never shuts off—overthinking, worrying, or constantly feeling on edge. Or maybe it’s the opposite... feeling low, unmotivated, or disconnected from yourself in a way that’s hard to explain. Some days feel heavy, and even simple things take more effort than they used to.

You may also be carrying grief—whether from a loss, a life change, or something that didn’t turn out the way you hoped. At the same time, work stress or burnout might be adding another layer, leaving you feeling emotionally drained and stretched thin.

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know ecah other and what’s been weighing on you, what brought you to therapy, and what you’d like to feel different. There’s no pressure to share everything at once or find the “right” words.

We’ll talk through what you’ve been experiencing, whether that’s anxiety, low mood, grief, stress, or feeling overwhelmed, and I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background and what support might look like for you.
