Patricia Avalos is a licensed mental health counselor in the central Florida area who works with children, teens, adults, and seniors who struggle with grief and loss, life transitions, and attachment wounds. Many of her clients describe grief and loss as a feeling of emptiness and loneliness and seek counseling so they can discover how to navigate these tough emotions. Patricia is passionate about working with people who are experiencing grief and loss and ways to better cope with the losses in their life. She helps clients better understand the impacts of grief and helps them through these difficult moments. She helps people who have not only experienced loss through death of a loved one, but also the loss people experience in life transitions. She helps clients navigate life transitions and ways to cope. Patricia also focuses on attachment wounds how these may influence an individual in the grieving process.
Patricia’s approaches counseling with sensitivity and compassion. She uses a relational approach to counseling which takes into consideration all aspects of a client’s life and how relationships with others impact their life. Other techniques include Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and strength-based techniques. She works with clients to help them to connect to their emotions and to recognize ways they have overcome difficult moments in the past.
Patricia is dedicated to building a relationship built on trust so that clients feel accepted and safe to talk freely about what they are going through. One of her favorite quotes is "Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope." ~Martin Luther King, Jr. She wants to come along side you and help you to find hope in the midst of despair.
