Professional statement

Razan Masri, ALMFT, is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist providing secure telehealth services through Mentella Health, working with clients across Illinois and PSYPACT states. She supports individuals and couples who are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, divorce-related stress, depression, and bicultural identity concerns. Her clients often include those seeking greater clarity in their relationships, individuals processing significant emotional or cultural transitions, and couples working to rebuild connection and communication. She offers a supportive, structured space for clients who want to better understand themselves and their relational patterns while working toward meaningful change.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on helping clients identify core issues and build sustainable emotional and relational growth. Razan integrates systems-based thinking informed by family systems therapy, focusing on how relational dynamics, family history, and cultural context influence current challenges. She emphasizes creating a safe, trusting therapeutic environment where clients feel heard without judgment, while also being gently challenged toward insight and action. Her work is grounded in empowering clients to take an active role in their healing process and to develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Razan brings a strong relational foundation to her clinical work, informed by experience supporting clients through complex interpersonal and identity-related concerns. She is dedicated to fostering a therapeutic environment that balances empathy with practical guidance, helping clients translate insight into real-life change. Her professional focus reflects a commitment to helping clients strengthen emotional awareness, improve communication patterns, and navigate difficult life transitions with greater resilience and self-understanding.

Message to clients

Before starting therapy with me, it may help to know that I work with college and emerging adults, adults, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, neurodiversity, and bicultural identity. I offer telehealth in Illinois and aim to create a space that feels warm, collaborative, and culturally attuned, especially for clients who are holding more than one identity or trying to make sense of where they belong.

My approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens within safe, authentic relationships. In our work together, I focus on helping you better understand yourself, your emotions, and the patterns that show up in your relationships. I also place strong emphasis on emotional awareness, communication, boundary-setting, and learning how to integrate different parts of your identity in a way that feels honest and self-directed. For couples, I draw on advanced Gottman training to support stronger connection and healthier conflict patterns.

As a Syrian American therapist who is bilingual in English and Arabic, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to my work with multicultural and bicultural clients. I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University and practice under supervision as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. My hope is that clients leave therapy feeling more grounded, more clear about what they need, and more confident in their ability to build relationships and a life that feel aligned with who they are.
