Professional statement

Ronella Ellis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that specializes in helping individuals and couples with relationship issues and family conflict. She also supports those who experience conflict in the workplace, as well as interracial or intercultural issues in any context and those struggling with trauma or their spirituality. Ronella enjoys working with clients who are ready to dive into exploring their mental health and eager to make change in their lives.

Ronella is passionate about working with women, people of color, interracial couples, and those in the LGBTQ community. She draws from African Psychology when appropriate, and also promotes radical self care practices for clients that would benefit from placing their own well-being ahead of others, avoiding feelings of shame or guilt. Ronella also practices Internal Family Systems therapy and, at times, applies astrology to deepen clients’ introspection and connection to the self.

Ronella provides gentle guidance and perspective as clients address challenges in their lives and locate solutions. She strives to create a strong connection with her clients that opens the doors for healing and growth.

Message to clients

Beginning therapy is a thoughtful decision, and my intention is for our work together to feel steady, respectful, and meaningful. I work with individuals and couples from many backgrounds, and I approach therapy as a collaborative process—one that honors your lived experience, relationships, culture, and the environments you move through. Sessions are not about fixing you or rushing insight, but about clarifying what’s true, strengthening self-trust, and creating space for sustainable change.

Before we begin, it’s helpful to know that I work relationally and with awareness of context, power, and identity. I support clients navigating stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, religious trauma, and the impact of racism and other systemic pressures. My practice is welcoming and affirming of all people. Whether or not you are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, belong to a marginalized ethnic group, face socioeconomic hardship, hold differing political views or live within a range of relationship structures, you can expect culturally responsive care and a space where your full humanity is respected. We may explore patterns shaped by family systems, work dynamics, or community expectations—not to dwell in the past, but to understand what’s influencing the present.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can speak honestly without bracing, reflect without judgment, and learn practical ways to set boundaries, communicate clearly, and move through life with greater clarity and balance. If you’re looking for thoughtful care that integrates insight with real-world application, we may be a good fit.
