I am a clinical social worker in Asheville. I work with adults of all ages . Many of my clients come in to address anxiety and depression, mild eating disorders, body image concerns, and stress. I am particularly passionate about helping people reduce shame and improve their ability to regulate their emotions. I have advanced training in the area of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder and mild eating disorders.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. These modalities are evidence-based, and have shown to be helpful in treating a variety of conditions. I may offer intuitive eating strategies, or information on nutrition. In session, I may offer relaxation techniques to manage emotional overwhelm, critical thinking skills to help you "think about your thoughts" and solve problems, or provide practical strategies to create better routines if relevant. This approach supports you in making changes to behaviors.
I often recommend recurring sessions to support continuity, momentum, and skill-building between sessions. Frequency is individualized based on your needs and goals—weekly sessions are often helpful during periods of higher distress or when actively working on anxiety, depression, or eating disorder patterns, while biweekly sessions may be appropriate for ADHD-related challenges or ongoing stress management. We’ll regularly revisit session frequency together as your needs change over time.
I received my MSW from Catholic University of America. worked at Georgetown Transplant Institute, where I worked in the liver transplant unit. I have worked in group practice and employee assistance in which she offered crisis intervention. Outside of private practice, I love weight lifting, being in nature, and tend to do a lot of learning for my work. I offer both in-person and remote therapy sessions.
