Sam is a psychotherapist who works with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, self-doubt, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Many of the clients he works with feel caught between different expectations, versions of themselves, or ways of relating to others. Some are struggling with overthinking, emotional disconnection, or uncertainty about who they are outside of family, cultural, or societal pressures. He also has a particular interest in working with men who want to deepen their emotional awareness and build more meaningful, connected relationships.
Sam’s approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity about each person’s lived experience. He views therapy as a space where clients can slow down, better understand longstanding patterns, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves. Rather than focusing on “fixing” people, he helps clients explore how their struggles may have developed and what those experiences are communicating. His style is warm, thoughtful, and engaged, with room for honesty, reflection, and humor throughout the process.
Drawing from psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Sam tailors treatment to each client’s individual needs and goals. While he integrates practical coping tools when helpful, he places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship itself and believes meaningful change often comes through feeling understood, emotionally safe, and able to show up authentically in therapy.
Sam sees clients in person at Holistic Psychotherapy NYC’s Midtown Manhattan office near Grand Central and offers virtual therapy sessions throughout New York State. He accepts Aetna insurance, offers sliding scale options, and provides superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Weekday, evening, and weekend appointments are available.
