Professional statement

Samantha Heller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and Florida. She helps clients manage anxiety, depression, feelings of overwhelm, and low self esteem. Samantha helps people navigate life transitions when things feel uncertain, stressful, or emotionally overwhelming.

Samantha has extensive experience as a medical social worker in oncology. She has supported individuals and families as they adjust to a new diagnosis, manage the uncertainty that comes with it, and adapt to living with a new illness or disability.

Samantha helps her clients slow things down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and provide tools to feel more grounded and capable.

Message to clients

Before we start, I want you to know that therapy with me is built around your lived experience—what you’re carrying, what’s changing, and what feels hardest right now. We’ll move at a pace that feels supportive, and we’ll focus on what helps you feel more steady and capable in your day-to-day life.

I’m especially here for periods of transition—job changes, relationship shifts, moving, or any kind of uncertainty that brings up fear, grief, or self-doubt. Many people also come to therapy after a new medical diagnosis. My background in oncology shapes how I can support you in adjusting to life with a new illness or disability—managing uncertainty, adapting to new realities, and processing grief for what has changed.

My hope for you is that sessions feel like a safe place to be fully honest, make sense of what’s happening, and leave each week with something useable—more clarity, more support, and more permission to be human while you go through something difficult.
