Professional statement

Sandra Dickinson, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who serves adults and is licensed in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. She helps individuals navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, and major life transitions. Many clients are used to managing a great deal on their own but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. This includes people experiencing pregnancy loss, menopause, identity shifts, or figuring out life beyond motherhood, as well as those balancing work, family, and caregiving. She has over 10 years of experience working with trauma survivors and Veterans, with an understanding of the unique stressors related to trauma and transition.

Her approach is grounded in somatic therapy, focusing on the connection between mind and body. Rather than only talking through challenges, she helps clients notice how stress and emotions show up physically—like tension, fatigue, or feeling on edge—and learn practical ways to regulate those responses. Sessions incorporate mindfulness and gentle, body-based techniques to support calm, clarity, and control. The work is trauma-informed, meaning it considers how past experiences shape present reactions while keeping the process approachable.

Therapy with Sandra is collaborative, down-to-earth, and focused on real-life change. Clients can speak openly, feel understood, and move at a comfortable pace. The goal is to build tools that work outside sessions and help clients feel more connected in daily life. With some weekend and evening appointments available, support emphasizes consistency, flexibility, and realistic progress over perfection daily.

Message to clients

I know how easy it can be to keep pushing through, even when you feel exhausted, disconnected, or like something just isn’t sitting right anymore. A lot of the people I work with are managing a great deal on the outside while quietly carrying stress, uncertainty, or grief on the inside. If you’re moving through a transition, whether that’s a loss, a shift in identity, changes in your body, or simply realizing you want something different for your life, you don’t have to sort that out alone. In our work together, I’ll meet you where you are, without judgment or pressure. We’ll slow things down enough to notice what you’re feeling and help you find steadier ground, one step at a time. My hope is that you start to feel more at ease in yourself again, more connected to what matters to you, and more able to move through life without carrying it all by yourself.
