Dr. Shannon McNeill is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in techniques that help clients move beyond self-doubt, worry, and unproductive over-thinking. Her therapeutic approach is most influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapies and other scientifically proven interventions. Dr. McNeill enjoys working side-by-side with her clients to encourage flexibility in thinking styles and enacting behaviors that get clients moving towards what is most important to them.
Dr. McNeill especially enjoys working with clients who have found themselves stalled by life transitions, such as job changes, entering college or graduate school, beginning or ending relationships, or changes in health. Based on a client's preferences and needs, she will integrate mindfulness meditation with other helpful strategies to reduce the negative impact of these situations. Though it may seem difficult, overcoming challenging transitions can be empowering and help us learn about our needs and values.
Dr. McNeill also has specialized training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She works with couples to assess areas of strengths and challenges. One of the primary goals for Dr. McNeill is to preserve a safe, workable space in which couples can address the painful fractures that exist between them. Through technique, training, and experience, Dr. McNeill will work to adjust her treatments to specifically meet her client's needs.
