Professional statement

Sherrie Stewart is a Limited Licensed Psychologist in Lansing, Michigan. Be it family dynamics, relationship issues, or loss and trauma, Sherrie is kind, caring and understanding. Sherrie has clinical experience assisting others with trauma related disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, stressful life events, and problems with adjustment after major life transitions.

Sherrie’s approach to psychotherapy is to nurture and guide interactions so positive change can occur through the experience of psychotherapy within the context of telehealth services. She uses a person -centered approach to therapy, as well as Psychodynamic Theory, Motivational Interviewing/Transtheoretical Model of Change, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, etc.

Sherrie has worked for many years in the human services field. While working toward her educational goals, Sherrie worked enthusiastically with children, youth, adults, and older adults in the community. At the end of the undergraduate training she earned a Bachelor’s in Arts Degree, with a Major in Psychology, which resulted in a lifetime membership to the National Honor Society in Psychology, Psi Chi.

Sherrie’s work with children with intellectual disabilities through graduate school as well led to new learning opportunities and new exciting technologies. As she worked through graduate school Sherrie became more specialized in her skills and knowledge. With practical skill under supervision and in-person work with a wide range of individual differences, Sherrie would go on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Science Degree, with a Major in Clinic Psychology.

Remote services are offered for the first three days of the work week from 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm,

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Sherrie is also available for evening meetings upon request.

I offer some sessions on a sliding fee scale. I am currently listed as a clinician on Open Path where services are rendered at a discounted cash rate.
