Professional statement

Stephanie Trueblood, LPC lives in Austin, Texas and has been in private practice since 2015. She is passionate about helping people live their best lives by gaining freedom from unresolved trauma, negative beliefs that keep them stuck, and relationship patterns that aren't working for them. Stephanie enjoys guiding clients in building their self-knowledge and confidence to understand who they truly are, what they actually want, and to have the courage to make it happen.

Stephanie uses Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients heal their traumas at the root, feel more organized and peaceful inside, and to understand themselves from a new and more compassionate perspective. She also uses humor and the power of the therapeutic relationship to foster a comfortable and genuine environment for healing and growth.

Stephanie also enjoys helping clients to view their unwanted behaviors with curiosity and non-judgment. This applies to avoidance behaviors such as substance use, emotional eating, doom scrolling, etc. as well as relationship patterns that are impeding on their joy. She educates clients on attachment styles and offers a very hopeful approach to healing insecure attachment patterns in individual as well as couples counseling.

Ultimately, Stephanie's main goal in the therapy room is to help her clients feel seen, heard, understood, and cared for, while offering tangible coping skills and deep healing so that they can step into the lives they truly want and deserve.

Stephanie offers in-person, telehealth, and phone sessions depending on what clients need. She is located in the Westlake area of Austin at 2525 Wallingwood Drive, Building 3, Suite 301, Austin, TX 78746.

Message to clients

Finding the right therapist can feel daunting and overwhelming, but you've taken a very important step in your journey towards freedom from suffering. Working with me is a collaborative process, and I always meet my clients where they are each and every session. For example, if last session we laid out some goals and decided to begin EMDR the next week, but that day comes and you've just had a fight with your partner and need to focus on that, I am very flexible and will shift gears easily to accommodate what you need that day. I have over a decade's worth of tools in my toolkit, and I customize each session to meet your individual needs and goals.

My hope for you is for you to gain the clarity and courage it takes to step into your power, your voice, and your life in a way that feels most authentic to you. If there are old stories you're telling yourself about who you are that are holding you back in some way, I will be your guide towards understanding the purpose they held for you at the time, while letting them go if they are no longer serving you.

It takes a tremendous amount of courage to sit with and look at the parts of you that hold pain and shame, and it is my honor to be a witness and guide in your healing process. I believe you deserve a life that feels luminous and free.
