Professional statement

Steven Garte-Wolf, LICSW, is a warm, collaborative therapist who works with adults and couples seeking deeper connection, healing, and self-understanding. He welcomes clients of all identities and backgrounds, and offers particular expertise in working with queer, trans, neurodivergent, and kinky individuals and relationships.

Steve helps people navigate challenges around intimacy, identity, partnership, and personal growth whether inside or outside of traditional norms. His approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique path. Drawing from humanistic, contemplative, and somatic therapy traditions, he supports clients in reconnecting with their values, emotions, and sense of purpose.

Clients often describe Steve as calming, open-minded, and deeply present. He brings a trauma-informed lens to help create emotional safety and support regulation and embodiment. His work is inclusive of monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, all sexualities and genders, and both neurodivergent and neurotypical ways of being.

Steve offers remote therapy for individuals and couples in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Florida. He is currently accepting new clients via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Sliding scale rates are available for private-pay clients.

Message to clients

You don’t have to navigate it all alone.

Whether you're exploring your identity, healing from past pain, or working to reconnect with yourself or others, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and grow. I offer a warm, affirming presence where all parts of you are welcome... especially those that have been silenced or misunderstood.

Together, we’ll work with compassion and curiosity to understand what matters most to you. While I generally support everyone in their journey, I also specialize in supporting the following groups as well: queer, neurodivergent, and kink-affirming individuals and relationships, and I draw from both Eastern and Western traditions to help you build a life that feels grounded, connected, and true.
