Professional statement

Taiann Knetge, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker deeply committed to providing affirming, inclusive, and anti-racist therapy for Black women and other Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Taiann’s practice centers individuals who too often find themselves navigating spaces where they must educate, code-switch, or shrink parts of themselves to feel seen. Her clients come seeking a space where they can show up fully, explore their stories authentically, and move toward healing rooted in self-defined wellness.

Grounded in an anti-oppressive and culturally humble framework, Taiann’s therapeutic approach acknowledges the profound impact of systemic racism, fatphobia, and intergenerational trauma on mental health and identity. She specializes in supporting those struggling with disordered eating and body image concerns, guiding clients to unpack the complex relationship between food, body, and belonging. By fostering a compassionate, shame-free space, Taiann helps clients move beyond harmful narratives and cultivate a more peaceful and empowered relationship with themselves.

Taiann’s clinical work is guided by her belief in the transformative power of authentic therapeutic relationships. She partners with clients to explore identity, set boundaries, and navigate life’s challenges—whether rooted in personal history, family dynamics, or societal oppression. With deep respect for each client’s lived experience, she strives to create a space where healing feels possible and sustainable.

Based in California, Taiann offers therapy to adults through secure telehealth sessions, making her practice accessible to clients across the state. She welcomes those who are ready to begin or continue their healing journey—especially those who want to feel truly seen, affirmed, and supported along the way.

Message to clients

Before we begin our work together, I want you to know that this is a space where you don’t have to shrink yourself, code-switch, or educate me about your lived experience. My practice is rooted in anti-racism, cultural humility, and a deep respect for the unique challenges you may face as a Black woman or person of color. My hope is that you’ll feel seen, heard, and supported exactly as you are—without shame or apology.

I view therapy as a collaborative process built on trust and authenticity. We’ll explore not just your struggles, but also your strengths, resilience, and the parts of you that have helped you survive and thrive. Whether you’re seeking support around disordered eating, body image, identity, boundaries, or simply want a space where you can exhale and be fully yourself, my goal is to walk alongside you—not to direct your journey, but to support it with compassion and honesty.

My hope for you is that therapy becomes a place where healing feels possible, and where you can reconnect with your own sense of agency and self-defined wellness. It’s not about perfection—it’s about creating space for you to show up, explore, and grow at your own pace. I’m honored to be part of that process with you.
