Professional statement

My therapeutic approach is grounded in cultural humility, authenticity, and collaboration. I work primarily with Black/African American individuals and families, while also supporting clients navigating sexuality, dating and relationship concerns (traditional and non-traditional), family dynamics, anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, religion/spirituality, and racial and cultural stressors. I believe therapy should be a space where clients feel deeply seen, heard, and respected, and where their lived experiences are honored without judgment.

Holistic & Integrative Care

I employ a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing that emotional wellness is influenced by cultural context, spirituality, relationships, and social systems. My work integrates cognitive therapy, emotional intelligence coaching, self-awareness practices, and relational interventions to support clients in understanding how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and systemic experiences intersect. This approach allows clients to develop insight while also gaining practical tools to manage stress, improve emotional regulation, and navigate life with intention.

Relationship & Family-Focused Work

Relationships are central to emotional health. I support individuals, couples, and families in examining communication patterns, attachment styles, boundaries, and intergenerational dynamics. Whether addressing dating challenges, non-traditional relationship structures, family conflict, or repair after relational ruptures, therapy focuses on strengthening connection, increasing emotional safety, and fostering healthier interaction.

Identity, Spirituality, & Intersectionality

My work is deeply informed by an intersectional lens. I acknowledge how race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and social location shape clients’ experiences and mental health. I intentionally create space to explore identity development, spiritual beliefs, and the impact of racism, oppression, and inequity. Advocacy is woven into my clinical work, with particular attention to amplifying voices that have historically been silenced and validating the resilience of marginalized communities.

Message to clients

Entering therapy is a meaningful and courageous step, and I want you to know that you do not have to do this work alone. My hope is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and fully seen—where your story, identity, and lived experiences are honored without judgment. Our work together is collaborative and rooted in empathy, authenticity, and trust. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you explore patterns, heal wounds, and develop the tools needed for growth and change.

I recognize the impact that culture, race, spirituality, relationships, and systemic stressors can have on emotional well-being. Therapy with me is holistic, affirming, and grounded in an understanding of intersectionality and lived experience. Whether you are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or generational and cultural stress, we will work together at a pace that feels supportive and intentional. My hope is that through this process, you find clarity, peace, and the freedom to do your work; on your own terms, in your own time.
