Professional statement

Dr. Tanya Singh is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults navigating anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), perfectionism, and periods of significant personal transition. Many of the people she works with are thoughtful, high functioning individuals who are used to being capable and self aware, yet find themselves caught in cycles of overthinking, intrusive thoughts, or relentless self criticism. Although they may appear successful on the outside, internally they often feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to quiet their minds.

Dr. Singh’s approach integrates evidence based treatments with a trauma informed and depth oriented perspective. She draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), internal family systems (IFS), mindfulness based approaches, and somatic awareness to help clients shift long standing patterns of anxiety, avoidance, and self criticism. Her work is especially informed by experience treating obsessive compulsive disorder and intrusive thought patterns. Therapy focuses on helping clients regulate their nervous systems, develop a more compassionate relationship with their thoughts and emotions, and build the capacity to stay present with difficult internal experiences.

In addition to traditional psychotherapy, Dr. Singh offers ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP) for individuals navigating treatment resistant anxiety, depression, or deeply entrenched patterns. This work emphasizes preparation, psychological safety, and careful integration so that insights from the experience can translate into meaningful change. She also works with clients exploring spiritual identity, existential questions, and the integration of profound experiences such as spiritual awakenings or near death experiences.

Dr. Singh holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and trained at institutions including Columbia University, Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital, and Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. She offers virtual therapy for adults residing in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and several PSYPACT states including Connecticut, Arizona, Minnesota, Florida, Colorado, Washington, Georgia, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, and Maryland.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. My hope is that our work together offers a space where you can slow down, tune in, and begin to understand yourself more clearly. Many people come to therapy feeling caught in cycles of anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or relentless self criticism. Often these experiences can feel confusing or overwhelming, but when we take the time to look closely, they usually make sense in the context of your life and experiences. Part of our work is building a greater sense of internal coherence so that you can understand yourself more fully and communicate who you are in ways that feel authentic and aligned.

In our sessions, we may focus on practical tools that help you feel more grounded and regulated, while also creating space for reflection and deeper exploration. I bring training, experience, and clinical tools to the process, but the wisdom you already carry about your own life is equally important. My role is to help you reconnect with that inner clarity and develop a sense of safety within yourself.

Growth takes time. Some insights emerge in moments of discomfort or uncertainty, while others arise when we allow ourselves to pause and wait for something new to take shape. The world we live in can be uncertain and overwhelming, so the goal is not to eliminate anxiety entirely. Instead, our work focuses on helping you find steadiness within yourself so that you can move through life with greater clarity, resilience, and self trust.

Specialties

Anxiety - Anxiety can feel overwhelming and all-consuming, but it is also workable. I help clients understand their anxiety, build tools for self-regulation, and shift their relationship to fear, control, and uncertainty.

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) - OCD often stems from deep fears and a need for certainty or control. I support clients in learning how to navigate intrusive thoughts with more freedom and compassion, using evidence-based approaches like IFS and exposure-based work.

Life transitions - Major life changes can shake our foundation and bring up old patterns. Whether you’re navigating a career shift, relationship change, or inner transformation, I help you move through transitions with clarity, self-trust, and integrity.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy - For those navigating deeply entrenched patterns or treatment-resistant conditions, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy can support deeper insight and movement. I offer preparation, integration, and guidance throughout the process in a grounded, intentional way.

Spiritual Integration and Existential Concerns - Sometimes therapy is about more than symptom relief—it’s about reconnecting with something deeper. I work with clients exploring spiritual identity, existential questions, and the search for meaning, drawing from both psychological and contemplative traditions.

Self-Worth & Inner Criticism - Many clients I work with struggle with harsh self-judgment and a deep sense of not-enoughness. Together we soften those patterns, strengthen the connection to your inherent worth, and develop a more compassionate internal dialogue.
