Professional statement

Life transitions can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re starting a new job or school, navigating relationship changes, or adjusting to a new stage of life, these moments can bring stress, uncertainty, and questions about who you are or where you’re headed. Verronica Hudson, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Houston, TX, works with teenagers, young adults, and adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps.

Verronica creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can slow down, talk openly, and make sense of what they’re experiencing. Together, you’ll explore the challenges you’re facing while building practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your emotions.

Her approach draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and solution-focused therapy. In sessions, clients learn skills to manage stress, regulate emotions, and navigate difficult situations more effectively. Verronica believes therapy works best as a collaborative process, where you work together to identify meaningful goals and create realistic steps toward greater balance and personal growth.

Verronica earned her Master’s degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas. She enjoys helping clients develop greater self-awareness and clarity so they can move through life’s changes with resilience and a stronger sense of self.

Message to clients

For a long time, I considered myself an honest person. But a few years ago, I realized I had been telling a small, familiar lie almost every day. When someone asked, “How are you?” I would automatically reply, “I’m fine.” The truth was, I wasn’t fine—I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and simply trying to make it through each day. That realization changed the way I show up in the world and in my work as a therapist. It reminded me how often people carry difficult feelings beneath the surface, even when their words say otherwise.

Because of this, I strive to create a space where you don’t have to pretend you’re “fine.” Sometimes finding the words for what you’re feeling can be hard, and you may wonder if anyone will truly listen with care and understanding. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, but it is also a courageous step. When you’re ready, I’m here to listen, meet you where you are, and support you as you work toward greater clarity, balance, and growth.
