Professional statement

Vicki Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas who offers online counseling through her private practice. She welcomes clients of all ages and provides individual, couples, and family counseling. Life can feel overwhelming at times—whether you’re dealing with relationship struggles, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, or loss—and you don’t have to face it alone. Vicki’s goal is to help you find practical ways to cope, feel better, and function more fully in your day-to-day life. Sessions take place in a relaxed, supportive, and warm environment—all from the comfort of your own home.

Vicki often uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, you’ll work on recognizing unhelpful thought patterns and learning how to replace them with healthier ones that lead to more balanced emotions and positive changes. Her approach is friendly, encouraging, and compassionate—while also knowing when to gently challenge you to help create real growth.

With 30 years of experience working in public schools, Vicki has worked with diverse populations facing a wide range of personal challenges. She specializes in working with adolescents but has experience supporting clients of all ages. She is comfortable navigating unexpected issues as they arise and believes in meeting clients where they are, going with the flow when needed, and always keeping the focus on what will best support your healing and growth.

Message to clients

My goal is simple—to help you become the healthiest version of yourself. All I ask is that you’re willing to show up, put in the work, and stay open to the process. I’ve always believed that if someone leaves a session feeling even a little better than when they walked in, then we’ve done something right. We’re not aiming for perfection, and change won’t happen overnight. Healing takes time, and learning to trust the process is part of the journey. I’ll walk alongside you as we work through whatever feels most important to you. It matters to me that you know what to expect from me—and that you feel comfortable sharing what you hope to get out of therapy. My approach is warm and supportive, but I’ll also gently challenge you when needed, especially when it can lead to meaningful growth. Together, our goal is for you to feel happier, healthier, and more at ease in your life.
