Professional statement

Wendy Budwey is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Florida and Massachusetts with over eight years of experience supporting individuals and families across a wide range of needs. She earned her Master of Social Work from Boston University and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Wendy views therapy as a collaborative, empowering process. She works alongside clients to help them understand their experiences, build resilience, and develop practical tools that support wellbeing in everyday life. Grounded in a person-in-environment perspective, she considers the full context of each client’s world, relationships, stressors, identity, and environment, to create meaningful, holistic change.

Wendy has worked with clients ages eight and older across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. She has extensive experience supporting individuals navigating homelessness, involvement in the criminal justice system, trauma, and chronic mental health concerns. Her approach integrates evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), always adapting treatment to meet each client’s unique needs.

Message to clients

Starting therapy is an important step, and I’m honored you’re considering taking it with me. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and safe to explore whatever brings you in. You don’t have to have the “right words” or a clear plan, your job is simply to show up as you are, and together we will figure out the rest.

I believe that healing happens in connection. In our work together, we’ll look at what’s been feeling heavy, identify patterns that may be getting in your way, and build tools that help you move through life with more confidence and clarity. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, past experiences, or a difficult transition, I’m here to support you with compassion and evidence-based guidance.

You deserve a space where you can pause, breathe, and focus on yourself. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk with you toward the change and healing you’re looking for.\
