Professional statement

Dr. Wendy Morua is a bilingual licensed psychologist and school psychologist based in Texas with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults. She is committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful change.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Morua draws on evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring her approach to each individual’s needs. She specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and life transitions, while also supporting children and teens in academic, social, and emotional growth.

Her work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. Dr. Morua believes that adversity can become an opportunity for growth and self-discovery, and she partners with clients to build resilience, confidence, and lasting well-being.

Recently, Dr. Morua founded Therapy Court, a private practice in Friendswood, TX, designed around the philosophy that emotional and coping skills are best learned through active practice—much like training for sports on the court. Clients have a safe, supportive environment to practice emotional regulation, coping strategies, and interpersonal skills in real-time, building confidence and mastery before applying them in daily life. Therapy Court offers both in-person and virtual sessions and emphasizes client empowerment, skill-building, and creating a therapeutic experience that honors each person’s unique journey.
