Professional statement

Many of the people who come to see me have been carrying something heavy for a long time. Old grief, the weight of a difficult chapter, anxiety that won't quite settle, or the toll of a chronic illness or major life change. Some have done therapy before and are looking for something deeper this time: a space to understand themselves, not just to manage symptoms.

I'm a New York State licensed clinical psychologist with more than 30 years in private practice. My work is primarily psychodynamic and insight-oriented, which means we'll pay close attention to long-standing emotional patterns, internal conflicts, and the relationships, past and present, that shape how you feel and move through the world. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I try to move at a pace that feels respectful and manageable rather than rushed.

When it's useful, I also draw on Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured, evidence-based treatment for PTSD and complex trauma in which I have specialized training. For some clients, weaving CPT into the work helps address trauma symptoms more directly while still holding the larger emotional picture in view.

I see clients in person in New York City and offer remote sessions to New York State residents. I'm currently accepting new patients, and I'd welcome the chance to talk with you about whether we might be a good fit.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’ve been carrying emotional pain for a long time or if past therapy hasn’t fully addressed what you hoped it would. You don’t need to have everything figured out before beginning—part of the work is slowing down together and making sense of what brings you here.

I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels thoughtful, safe, and collaborative. Some people come to therapy wanting to better understand long-standing patterns, while others are seeking relief from specific symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, or depression. We will work together to find an approach that fits you, whether that involves deeper exploration, more structured work, or a combination of both.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel understood and supported as you work toward greater clarity, relief, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself and others.
