Professional statement

Zena Ramsey, LPC, works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, relational trauma, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, chronic stress, and difficulties adjusting to change. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, disconnected from themselves or others, or overwhelmed by the emotional impact of past and present experiences. Zena creates a warm, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships with greater self-awareness and compassion. Her goal is to help clients build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Zena's therapeutic approach is grounded in humanistic and client-centered principles, emphasizing authenticity, empathy, curiosity, and respect for each client's unique experiences. She integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities to meet the individual needs of her clients, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and other insight-oriented approaches. By combining practical coping strategies with deeper exploration of personal values, emotions, and relational patterns, she helps clients develop greater psychological flexibility, self-compassion, and confidence in navigating life's challenges.

With over six years of experience as a mental health therapist in outpatient settings, Zena brings a thoughtful and collaborative perspective to her clinical work. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has worked with diverse individuals facing a wide range of emotional, relational, and behavioral concerns. As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Mentella Health, she provides evidence-based telehealth services that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client's goals. Her approach is rooted in the belief that therapy is not about fixing people, but about fostering connection, understanding, healing, and personal growth.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel both hopeful and intimidating, and it's completely normal to have mixed emotions about the process. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, accepted, and genuinely understood. I believe that meaningful change happens through a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity, and compassion not judgment. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you don't have to navigate it alone.

In our work together, I will encourage you to bring your full, authentic self into the room. Therapy is not about having all the answers or being "fixed." Instead, it's an opportunity to better understand your experiences, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges. My hope is that through our work together, you'll gain greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence in your ability to create a life that feels aligned with your values and goals.

Most importantly, I want you to know that healing and growth look different for everyone. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, honoring both your strengths and your struggles along the way. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they build resilience, deepen their relationships, and discover new possibilities for themselves and their future.
