Dr. Rosen works with individuals and couples facing painful internal / interpersonal challenges, including both painful psychological maladies and legal stressors/challenges (e.g. divorce processes / adaptation) .
Dr. Rosen's specialty with couples and divorce is informed by his combined clinical (Ph.D.) and legal (J.D.) training, as well as 25 years as a Custody Evaluator and Court Psychologist in a Family Court, evaluating complex and high conflict custody and visitation challenges, including parenting plans, parental alienation allegations, guardianship issues, etc. His training and experience is ideally suited for guiding you through any stage of divorce processes / decisionmaking and conflicts (e.g. custody battles, alienation / reunification).
Dr. Rosen's statement regarding working with clients is as follows:
"Therapy at its best combines both insight and action.
Understanding ourselves can provide a kinder and less judgmental frame of understanding how we got here. But this is not enough.
Taking steps, both in life and during therapy to heal and make changes is essential for an effective and satisfying outcome.
For these reasons, my approach to therapy combines the depth orientation of insight-oriented psychotherapies and mindfulness with the action-oriented aspects of cognitive-behavioral, behavioral and internal focusing techniques.
I work with individuals and couples in distress to quickly identify the roots of difficulties and bring their lives into greater balance. I served on the Faculty of the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry, teaching and supervising psychotherapy and forensic and family consultation.
