Professional statement

Allie Nwosu is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with women navigating relationship anxiety, attachment wounds, self-abandonment, and major relational transitions. Many of the women she works with are highly capable and successful in other areas of life, yet feel disconnected from themselves within relationships; questioning their intuition, overthinking their emotions, or struggling to discern between anxiety and inner knowing.

Her work is especially supportive for women who find themselves repeating painful relational patterns, losing connection to themselves while in love, over-functioning in relationships, or feeling torn between staying, leaving, trusting, or speaking their truth.

Allie’s approach is relational, experiential, and insight-oriented. She integrates attachment-based therapy, somatic awareness, narrative exploration, mindfulness practices, and emotional processing to help clients better understand the deeper patterns shaping how they relate to themselves and others. Her work focuses on helping clients build greater emotional safety, self-trust, authenticity, and relational capacity.

In addition to her work with women, Allie also works with couples navigating conflict, emotional disconnection, intimacy concerns, and recurring relational patterns. She offers virtual therapy sessions for clients in Virginia and New York, as well as focused intensives for those seeking deeper therapeutic support.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if part of you already senses that something in your relationship or within yourself no longer feels aligned.

You may find yourself wondering:

“Is this my intuition or my anxiety?”

“Why do I keep abandoning myself in relationships?”

“Why do I feel so emotionally overwhelmed in love when I’m successful everywhere else?”

“Am I trying to control because I don’t feel safe?”

“Am I afraid of losing the relationship… or losing myself within it?”

If you’ve been stuck in cycles of overthinking, hypervigilance, people-pleasing, emotional exhaustion, or repeating painful relationship patterns, my hope is that our work together becomes a space where you can slow down, reconnect to yourself, and begin understanding what’s truly underneath the anxiety, confusion, or disconnection you may be experiencing.

I won’t just focus on what’s going wrong, I’ll help you explore the deeper patterns shaping how you relate to yourself and others. My approach is compassionate, relational, and honest. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-trust, emotional safety, authenticity, and clarity in the way you move through relationships and life.
