Chelsea Koonz Cortes, LICSW, is a therapist in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts who works remotely with clients across all of Massachusetts and Texas. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent, non-native). She works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationship stress, burnout, and major life transitions. Many of Chelsea’s clients come in when they feel overwhelmed by responsibilities, disconnected from themselves, or caught in patterns of caretaking, overfunctioning, or emotional distancing.
Chelsea’s approach is insight oriented and experiential, helping clients slow down, understand the emotional currents beneath their reactions, and strengthen connection within themselves and in relationships. In session, she focuses on guiding gentle self-reflection and building clarity around patterns that no longer serve clients. This process helps clients feel more regulated, self-compassionate, and aligned with their values. Her style is steady, warm, and reflective. When clients first come in, Chelsea creates a calm, non-judgmental space and collaborates with them to shape a treatment plan that matches their needs and capacity.
Chelsea received her MSW from Boston College with a clinical focus in Global Social Work. She has trained in international community health, couples therapy intensives, and behavioral-health navigation in hospital settings, which enables her to blend emotional depth with practical, real-world support. Outside of private practice, she enjoys exploring nature, dancing, and spending time with her daughter.

Frequency of sessions this provider offers to see clients once you are an established client.
Please note: I do not bill insurance for couples sessions. This is because insurance typically requires a diagnosis for one partner, which doesn’t fit the nature of couples work. In addition, insurance often doesn’t cover couples therapy, or reimbursement rates are very low. My rate for couples sessions is $225, and I offer a sliding scale when needed.
