Prior to our first session, I want you to know that I am not just a silent observer in the room. I believe that therapy works best when it is a two-way street; a place where you are met with kindness, but also challenged to see yourself in a more capable light. My hope for you is that you leave our sessions feeling more 'anchored.' Life has a way of pulling us in a thousand directions, and I want our time together to be the space where you can finally stop, breathe, and recalibrate your internal compass.
I want you to feel comfortable bringing your whole self to our work, including the parts of your life that feel confusing or 'too much.' Whether we are focusing on the nuances of a major life transition, or working through the daily friction of depression and anxiety, I am committed to pointing out the progress you are making, even on the days it’s hard for you to see it. We will work together to build practical strategies to help you move through the world with more ease and less second-guessing.
My practice, AMK, is built on the idea that therapy should be an empowering, growth promoting space. We offer the flexibility of online scheduling and immediate slots to ensure that when you are ready for change, the door is open. I truly love the work I do, and my ultimate hope is that you walk away from our partnership feeling not just 'better,' but fundamentally more equipped to handle the beauty and the difficulty of your own life. I look forward to hearing your story.
