Professional statement

Elaine Kennedy is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) who provides a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change. She believes that one of the most courageous steps a person can take is beginning to understand their own story and how it shapes their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Elaine primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop effective coping strategies, and reduce symptoms that interfere with daily functioning. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, body image concerns, and relationship challenges.

Elaine also works with couples who are experiencing conflict, disconnection, or difficulty rebuilding trust and intimacy. She helps partners improve communication, address attachment patterns, and navigate personality differences in order to strengthen emotional connection. She additionally supports pre-engaged and premarital couples who want to prepare intentionally for marriage.

Elaine understands that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming. Drawing from both her clinical training and lived experience with life transitions, career, marriage, and parenting, she partners with clients to build insight, resilience, and practical tools that support long-term emotional well-being.
