Elizabeth Walter is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). She started her educational journey working with children who have special needs, focusing on Autism. The last few years, she has emphasized on working with young children, adolescents, and parents who have experienced multiple traumas. Her outlook on working with clients' who have experienced trauma is focusing around the question of "What has happened to you". Assisting the client overcome their personal traumas and seeing the growth and positive outcomes of healing, has to be the most rewarding part of the therapeutic process she says. In recent years Elizabeth has worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders by restoring balance and healing treatment to their day to day life.
Elizabeth uses multiple modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Client focused therapy approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and more! It is important to her to follow the client's lead in what is the best approach to use and incorporating art and play in sessions is essential when working with young adolescents or children. Elizabeth offers family therapy along with behavioral therapy approaches and help assisting parents and children with school accommodations for different learning needs.
Elizabeth is currently taking new patients and would love to schedule a consult or initial session with you. She offers in person sessions as well as telehealth sessions Monday through Thursday 10am to 5pm and later sessions on Wednesdays, as well as telehealth options for Saturdays from 9am to 12pm.
